About

Meet Our Team

Amanda Smith, master Pilates trainer, owner and founder of Core Integrity Pilates in Greensboro, NC

Amanda K. Smith

Founder/Owner/Instructor

I believe that movement can be the joyful conduit that connects us all...

Amanda is a master Pilates instructor with over 20 years of experience teaching movement.  She founded Core Integrity Pilates in 2005 after receiving her Comprehensive Pilates Certification through Power Pilates NYC, among many others.  She holds a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from UNCG and has been performing professionally and teaching all over North Carolina since 2002.

My superpower is NOT in teaching Pilates... it is in teaching the BODY IN FRONT OF ME, where it is on that particular day, and finding creative ways to help EVERYONE feel connected to each exercise in their own beautifully diverse body.

Amanda is proud mother to Everly Louise and Smith Sullivan; and partner to the love of her life, Lucas Thomas.  Together they live in Greensboro along with rescued fur baby, Annabelle Marie.  You can bet wherever she is, there is a diffuser wafting essential oils, a couple of crystals in the pocket of some wild pair of leggings, and something chocolate nearby ... and a strong cup of coffee in hand!  She loves dancing, animals, laughter, old school hip-hop, playing outdoors, being with her kiddos, eating fish tacos, weaving dreamcatchers and creating other eclectic art.

Her goal is to make authentic Pilates available to ALL BODIES in ALL SEASONS OF LIFE, and to usher people through the experience feeling seen, empowered and truly connected to the exercises.  Many people have the misconception that they need to be or look or feel a certain way BEFORE starting Pilates... and that could not be farther from the truth.

My pre-requisites for Pilates are 1) a beating heart, and 2) at least one moveable joint!  If you've got those things going for ya, you are the perfect candidate!  Pilates meets us where we ARE... not where we think we 'should' be.

Amanda is constantly seeking opportunities to co-create and share her healing gifts with others.  She truly looks forward to the chance to work with and know YOU.

Hope Wolfe

Hope has been in love with movement since the age of 4 when she first began dancing. She received her B.A. in Dance Studies from Appalachian State University and has continued to dance periodically since attaining her degree. This led her to discover Pilates under the tutelage of Marianne Adams and Rebecca Quin during her time at Appalachian State. It was there that she pursued her Pilates certification, becoming a 3rd generation classical instructor in a lineage descending from Romana Kryzanowska. She is comprehensively trained in both mat and apparatus.

Hope’s passion for movement and her continued desire to learn led her to the GYROTONIC®️ Expansion System. She is now a certified GYROTONIC®️ Level 1 Pre-Trainer, GYROTONIC®️Level 2 instructor, and GYROKINESIS®️Level 1 Pre-Trainer. She is also certified on the Jump Stretch Board, Archway and Gyrotoner. In addition she has studied GYROTONIC®️ applications for Osteoporosis, Scoliosis, the shoulder girdle, pelvic girdle, scoliosis and the psoas.

Hope is thrilled to bring her enthusiasm for this method to Core Integrity Pilates and to Greensboro and help others on their path to healing and happier moving!

Lisa Murray

Raindrop Technique / Vitaflex Specialist

Certified Aromatherapy Coach

Studio Assistant

Some of you may remember Lisa as our Studio Manager at the front desk "pre-pandemic" -- well, she's still here behind the scenes!

Along with the skills Lisa brings to the studio from a career background in marketing/project management and client services, Lisa also has now brought the beautiful healing modality of Raindrop Technique to CIP as part of our Wellness Collective.

Raindrop Technique integrates a light feathering and the uniquely energetic Vitaflex technique ("vitality through the reflexes") with the power of essential oils to bring the body into balance at a cellular level - both physically and emotionally (much like Pilates!).

Lisa is Certified under CARE - the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education - and is excited to support you on your healing journey to rejuvenate the mind and balance the body. Last year she completed her Aromatherapy certification as well as advanced Raindrop studies in Vibrational Raindrop (tuning forks), Chromatic Raindrop (color light therapy) and other techniques to further enhance "classic" Raindrop and your experience.

When not busy helping others Lisa can be found relaxing at home on her "porchio" (screened porch) with her dog, Ziggy, and husband, Kevin.

Carrie Plew

Carrie Plew is a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist bringing over 22 years of experience to the table.  She received certification in Massage Therapy from both Guilford Technical Community College (High Point, NC) and the Swedish Institute (New York, NY).

Massage therapy has been a perfect complement to Carrie’s work as a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer (BFA UNC-Greensboro in Dance Performance and Choreography). She started her massage career as the in-house massage therapist for Stewart Physical Therapy in Burlington, NC.  There she gained experience in and appreciation for truly therapeutic massage for medically rehabilitative purposes.  Carrie is certified in Prenatal and Postpartum Massage and has completed training as a doula.  She is proud to have completed her studies at the Laban/Bartenieff Institute for Movement Studies and is now a Certified Movement Analyst. Her knowledge of Laban Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals gives her even more tools to guide clients towards increased movement potential and efficiency. She takes an anatomically specific approach to care for clients, using a firm and focused pressure to bring relaxation to overworked muscles.

Carrie is passionate about educating her clients in self care techniques such as gentle exercises and stretches so that the relaxation achieved during a massage session can be more integrated into a client’s daily routine.
