Amanda Smith  (Studio Owner / Comprehensively Certified 'Power Pilates' Instructor)  Send E-mail to Amanda Smith
This feisty female has been taking the stage, and the world (…well, at least the state of North Carolina), by storm since the unsullied age of five. Amanda studied modern dance, psychology and social work at ASU where she was first introduced to the Pilates method by (her heroine) Marianne Adams in 1998. She wound up transferring to UNCG where she graduated Cum Laude in 2003 with her BFA in Dance, focusing on performance and choreography. After graduation, Amanda became a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor through Power Pilates, NYC. She is now the owner of her Greensboro based studio, Core Integrity Pilates, established in 2005. In 2008, Core Integrity became a Participating Training Center for Power Pilates, NYC. This year, CIP became an Xtend™ Licensed Studio. Amanda has recently added a Prenatal and Postpartum Pilates Specialist certification from the Center for Women's Fitness to her credentials as well as becoming an instructor of the Xtend™ method. Her studio was voted "Best Pilates Studio in the Triad" in the GoTriad Reader's Choice Awards 2009. As a professional dancer she has had the pleasure of working with renowned choreographers including David Dorfman, Gerri Houlihan, Karola Luttringhaus, Neta Pulvermacher, Lisa Race, Sean Sullivan, and Jan Van Dyke, among others. She continues to perform professionally and teaches modern dance and Pilates throughout the state.

Shanley Johnson  (Comprehensively Certified 'Power Pilates' Instructor)  Send E-mail to Shanley Johnson
A native of Rochester, NY Shanley was an accomplished dancer at Sandy Stramonine School of Dance. She taught ballet classes for four years before moving to Greensboro in 1995. Shanley wanted to return to dance but couldn't bear the thought of putting her feet back into a pair of pointe shoes. During a cruise, she stumbled onto a Pilates class and was immediately hooked. It was the perfect fit. "It's been a complete overhaul for me. The synergy between the mind and body through the strengthening of the core has had am impact on my health as well as my overall improvement of life." Shanley has been training in classical Pilates and is certified in beginner and intermediate mat as an instructor by Power Pilates of NYC, which has been called the "Harvard of Pilates education." Shanley has since completed all certification requirements for the Comprehensive Teacher training with Power Pilates. Additionally, she has become a certified instructor of the Xtend™ method.

Kendra Maxwell  (Comprehensively Certified Instructor)  Send E-mail to Kendra Maxwell
Kendra Maxwell began studying Pilates in 2005 as an undergraduate student at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Though she had been a dancer for 17 years and considered herself strong she quickly saw her strength, fitness level, and overall physique quickly transform into something brand new as a result of her Pilates’ work. She has been a Pilates enthusiast ever since. After getting married in October 2006 and moving to Boone, NC where her husband was pursuing his master’s degree she found the Pilates Teacher Training Program and her role models/master trainers, Rebecca Quinn and Marianne Adams. She simultaneously started the comprehensive 600+ teacher training program and a Master of Science program in Exercise Immunology in August 2007. Intertwining the two programs helped her discover her true passion of continually learning and teaching and using her knowledge in both areas to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Kendra’s goal is to encourage her students to experience Pilates as not only a means of exercise, but also a method of achieving greater confidence, balance, and overall physical well-being.
