The ONLY Studio in the Triad!
CIP is now Greensboro's one and only Xtend™ Licensed Facility! Xtend™ is the most effective barre workout and the most efficient way to create a strong and healthy body at any age. The system focuses on sculpting the body proportionally so that it is equally challenged. The end result? A long and lean physique… without added bulk. Developed from a dance-background, you’ll enjoy the workout of a dancer and begin to feel and look like a dancer.
Using a series of isometric exercises and orthopedic stretches, clients can achieve firm and fast results.
Xtend gives you:
* stronger abs and back muscles * a lifted derrière * improved endurance and overall energy * increased flexibility * greater body awareness and improved posture
Xtend™ is the answer to living a happier, healthier, xtended life with your ideal body shape.
"If Pilates sculpts your body, Xtend™ chisels it." ~Andrea Rogers, Creator of Xtend™
Frequently asked Questions...
Do I have to be a dancer to do Xtend? Absolutely not. We incorporate both dance and Pilates moves but in a simple and easy to follow format. No tutus required!
How does Xtend differ from Pilates or yoga? While Pilates and Yoga provide amazing benefits, Xtend offers a more intense approach to fitness. Unlike Pilates, Xtend is done primarily while standing, challenging the body in weight-bearing positions and working the body as a whole. Although Xtend requires the strong presence of both mind and body, there is no spiritual approach, similar to Yoga. The Xtend method focuses on total physical fitness for an equally strong and flexible body.
How does Xtend work? We like to call our approach "Muscle Mixing". By mixing different muscle groups into every exercise, Xtend strengthens the body proportionally to avoid overuse of a single muscle group. Unlike traditional weight lifting or even Pilates, Xtend does not focus on isolating one muscle group at a time; our weight-bearing positions provide a total body workout… without adding bulk.
What physical results can I get from Xtend? Because you're using your own body weight as resistance, Xtend can help to increase bone density and can be more effective in developing lean muscle mass than traditional weight lifting exercises. Xtend can provide you with a stronger core to support a healthy body, a lifted derriere, improved posture, endurance and overall energy, increased flexibility and greater body awareness.
What does an Xtend class consist of? The Xtend workout targets all the major muscle groups. Classes begin with an invigorating warm up which increases the heart rate and prepares students for the work ahead. Then, the upper body segment begins using light weights to target the shoulders, biceps, triceps, and upper back muscles. Next, students challenge their entire body, including intense seat and thigh series, with the support of a ballet barre. Xtend then engages the core deeper with an intense abdominal series performed on the floor. A calming stretch series relaxes the body and mind, concluding the Xtend class.
How often should I do the Xtend workout to see results? We recommend doing Xtend 3-5 days a week. For many of our students, results can be seen and felt after only a few classes, but the real change (losing weight and inches) typically comes after 3-8 months of practice. Most beginners will experience soreness, but we encourage you to keep on Xtending. Your muscles will thank you later!
